The Worcester Public Library Foundation was established to enhance the public visibility and to raise public and private funds to ensure the continuing vitality of the Worcester Public Library.

Established in 2003, the Worcester Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed by a group of engaged civic leaders who recognized the critical need for private support to sustain and enhance the Library’s services and resources. The Foundation works in partnership with the Library to advance its visionary purpose statement: “As the heart of the community, we strive to nurture lifelong learning, cultivate knowledge, and champion intellectual freedom.” Additionally, the Foundation supports WPL’s ambition statement: “We aim to broaden perspectives, challenge norms, and empower people to reach their fullest potential.”
