The Worcester Public Library has been an outstanding resource for the residents of Worcester and Worcester County since 1859. It offers the newest materials, historical documents, computerized services and free programs at all of its locations. Private and corporate donations supplement city and state funding, and help increase the number and variety of services available at the Main Library, the Frances Perkins Branch Library at Greendale, the Great Brook Valley Branch Library, the One City, One Library branches and Libby and Lilly the mobile libraries.

To achieve our goal of a superior library for all of Worcester’s citizens, we ask for your help. In all its activities – from funding summer reading programs, to funding new technological resources, to sending librarians into classrooms to enlighten students about what the library offers – the Foundation seeks to create a superior level of resources and programs to inform, engage, and inspire. Your gift means more than ever, and is critical to our ability to continue to do what we do best – ensure excellence in our library.

Unrestricted Support: Your gift of unrestricted support to the Foundation provides critical support for our operations and allows us to succeed in our goal to enhance the resources and services of our great library.

Restricted Support: Your gift may be restricted for a specific library purpose. Please contact the Foundation Executive Director at 508-799-1656, for additional information about the Foundation’s current funding initiatives.

A Memorial/Honorary Gifts and Funds: Honorary and memorial gifts are a meaningful way to recognize or remember someone who loved and appreciated libraries. Please contact the Foundation Executive Director at 508-799-1656, for additional information about establishing a memorial or honorary gift fund.

Materials/Book Donations: Establish a lasting tribute to a special person or occasion by having a book added to the library’s collection. Make a donation in memory or honor of a friend or loved one, or to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. We will place a permanent bookplate in the book.
